The first part of the trilogy, a short film entitled "Brillianty. Vorovstvo" (Diamonds. Theft), was part of the Horizons programme in the 2010 Venice Film Festival. Filming of the third part "Izumrudy. Predatelstvo" (Emeralds. Betrayal) is set to start in 2014. The film "Yakhonty. Ubiystvo" is based on Ryunosuke Akutagawa's story In a Grove which takes place during the times of Tsar Alexander II.
